AM "GREAT PRESLAV" visit RHM - Shumen

In 2016 in the private palace of Preslav’s rulers dynasty from the 9th – 10th century a remarkable work of the Byzantine art has been unearthed. It is a gold heart-shaped ornament with cloisonné enamel technique decoration. Cloisonné enamel is typical of the Byzantine art and has been a privilege of the imperial art ateliers in the 10th century. The Preslav Gold Treasure, discovered in 1978, presumably belonged to the Bulgarian queen and has been worked in the same technique.
